Privacy Policy
Effective August 2, 2026 · Kidence ("we", "us")
Kidence helps parents understand and respond to their child's big feelings. Families trust us with sensitive moments, so this policy is written to be actually readable.
What we collect
- Your account: name and email (and phone, if you gave it on the beta waitlist).
- About your child: a first name or nickname and an age — never a birth date, school, address, or diagnosis.
- Moments you log: episode times and levels, the scene/trigger/feeling cards you pick, what you tried and whether it helped, notes you write, and — in Story Time — the feeling your child picks.
- Voice recordings: when you use voice input, your recording is sent securely for transcription, converted to text, and the audio is not stored — by us or by the transcription provider.
- Wearable signals (when you use a Kidence band): heart-rate and movement-derived arousal levels, tied to episodes.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no data sales — our business is subscriptions, not your data.
How we use it
To run the product you see: personalized in-the-moment suggestions, practice scenarios, trends, and your child's stories are all generated from your family's own history. AI features send the relevant slice of that history to our AI providers (via OpenRouter, currently DeepSeek and Google models) to generate a response; those requests are used to serve you, not to build advertising profiles. We may use aggregated, de-identified patterns to improve Kidence's models.
Children's privacy
Kidence is used and controlled by parents. We collect the minimum about a child (nickname, age, and the moments a parent chooses to log), always through the parent's account and with the parent present for child-facing features like Story Time. We never contact children, show them ads, or allow anyone else to see their data. If you believe a child's data was provided without parental consent, email us and we will delete it.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (database, US region) and served via Vercel, encrypted in transit. Some rewards data (stickers, streaks) lives only on your device.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account, your children's profiles, and every logged moment. You can also email hello@kidence.ai and we will delete your account within 48 hours.
Not a medical service
Kidence is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or therapy service, and its suggestions are not medical advice. For concerns beyond everyday parenting, talk to your pediatrician.
